Amiens vs. Angers : Ligue 1 Preview 2019

Amiens vs. Angers : Ligue 1 Preview 2019

Amiens and Angers have faced twice in Ligue 1, with both meetings coming last season. Angers won both home and away (2-0 away from home in August 2017 and 1-0 at home in January 2018).

Amiens have not drawn a Ligue 1 match since September against St Etienne (0-0), a streak of 13 matches without a draw (W4 L9). Amiens have drawn just once in the top-flight this season, only Tottenham (0) have participated in fewer stalemates across the top 5 European leagues so far this season.

Angers have won only one of their last nine Ligue 1 matches (D5 L3), a 1-0 victory against Montpellier in November.

Amiens have lost their last three home Ligue 1 matches (1-2 v Nantes, 1-3 v Marseille and 0-2 v Monaco), their longest drought ever at home in the top-flight.

Angers are winless in their last four away Ligue 1 matches (D3 L1), having won each of their previous two.

Angers have been behind for just 65 minutes in their away league matches so far this season – no side has spent less time trailing on the road.

Amiens & Angers are the only two teams to have scored two own goals in Ligue 1 this season (Adenon and Gouano for Amiens, Thomas and Manceau for Angers).

Angers alongside Reims, are the only Ligue 1 side yet to concede a goal from outside the box. All of the 21 goals Angers have conceded in 2018/19 have been scored from inside the box.

If he plays, Mathieu Bodmer will appear in his 400th Ligue 1 match (135 for Lille, 68 for Lyon, 63 for Paris, 14 for St Etienne, 80 for Nice, 10 for Guingamp and 29 for Amiens so far). He is also the current player who has played for the most Ligue 1 clubs (7).

Thomas Mangani has been involved in two of Angers’ three goals against Amiens in Ligue 1 (1 goal, 1 assist), but has not been involved in a goal in his last nine Ligue 1 matches. He hasn’t gone 10 consecutive matches without being involved in a goal since a run of 14 between September and December 2016.
